👋 Introduction
This article guides you through configuring the Academy access levels for each role. You will learn how to access the Academy settings, select the appropriate access level, enable granular permissions for administrators, and understand how permissions are combined across multiple roles.
🧭 Accessing Role-Based Academy Settings

Follow this navigation path:
Open the Mayday interface
Go to the "Roles" section
Select the role to be configured
Click on the "Academy" tab
🔐 Selecting an Access Level
The Mayday Academy offers three mutually exclusive access levels that determine what users can view and do.
🔸 No Access — Default level. Users have no access to Academy features. The permissions section remains hidden.
🔹 Learner — Read-only access in the Mayday application: view assigned modules and learning paths, track progress, and access learning content. The admin permissions section remains hidden.
🟢 Administrator — Users have access to the Mayday interface. By default, all management actions are disabled. Enable individual permissions in the next section to allow specific actions.
💡 Tip: The Administrator level without enabled permissions offers a read-only experience.
⚙ Enabling Administrator Permissions
At the Administrator level, a "Modules & Learning Paths" section appears with three permissions that can be independently enabled:
📝 Editing — Allows creating, editing, and deleting modules and learning paths. Without this permission, all editing actions are blocked.
👥 Assignment — Enables assigning and removing modules or learning paths for learners. Without this permission, content cannot be distributed to users.
🎯 Content Areas — Unlocks a special section to narrowly restrict which modules and learning paths the administrator can view and manage.

👥 Behavior with Multiple Roles
Mayday applies a simple rule for users with multiple roles:
The highest access level takes precedence (Administrator > Learner > No Access). Administrator permissions are the combination of all enabled permissions in their respective roles.
Example: A user with the role of "Training Leader" (Editing + Assignment) and the role of "Manager" (Editing + Content Areas) will have three permissions: Editing, Assignment, and Content Areas.
